Boilermaker Class 1

Description

A medium-sized gold mining company is seeking to recruit a skilled and experienced Boilermaker Class 1 to join its engineering and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy steel structures, mining equipment, pipes, tanks, chutes, and other metal components to ensure safe and efficient mining operations. Key Responsibilities - Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair steel structures and mining equipment. - Carry out welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication work according to engineering drawings and specifications. - Inspect, diagnose, and repair damaged or worn metal components. - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and infrastructure. - Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans. - Ensure all fabrication and welding work complies with safety regulations and quality standards. - Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime. - Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance records. - Promote safe working practices and maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work areas.
