Description

Inspects, diagnoses, and connects failed or malfunctioning vehicle components (that is, electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical issues) Provide technical advice on repair and maintenance solutions. Makes follow-ups on jobs contracted outside the council. Generates progress reports on completed work, work in progress, and outstanding spares. Implementation of procedures related to health and safety in accordance with the Factories and Works Act Ensure proper housekeeping in the workshop. Preventive maintenance: Conducting scheduled services (oil changes, tune-ups, filter replacements) to prolong the lifespan of the council's fleet. Regulatory compliance: Ensure all vehicles pass regulatory Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) fitness checks and conform to Environmental Management Agency (EMA) and road traffic regulations.

Requirements

Apprenticeship-trained motor mechanic with 5 years of post-qualification experience, OR a trade-tested Skilled Worker, OR a Journeyman Class 3 or better, motor mechanic with 8 years of post-qualification experience, OR a diploma in motor mechanics or 2 years of relevant work experience Clean and valid Class 2 or 4 driver's licence. Must be 35 years old or below
