Description

A newly established microfinance institution is recruiting a Loans Officer with a background in microlending This should include payroll-based lending (private schemes and civil service), collateral-backed loans, and SME/asset-based financing, along with some exposure to medium- to high-value clients. Assess and process loan applications in line with internal policy and industry standards. Develop business and strategic plans, along with operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to support the efficient, sustainable, and compliant management of the microfinance institutionDesign and execute marketing and client acquisition strategies to promote the institution's loan products and expand its market footprint.

Requirements

Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 2 years' microlending experience in Zimbabwe, spanning payroll-based, collateral-based, and SME/asset-based lending. Sound analytical ability and judgment when assessing creditworthiness. Comfortable building and maintaining client relationships. Able to communicate loan terms clearly, verbally and in writing. Confident making decisions on loan reviews and approvals. Background in marketing and debt collection. Trustworthy, professional, and able to handle confidential information. Able to work independently and manage pressure.
