Tiger Wheel & Tyre Zimbabwe is looking for a technically strong, service-oriented and proactive IT Support Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line technical support to users through the helpdesk, telephone, email and other support channels. Logging, tracking and resolving IT support requests in accordance with agreed service levels. Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, network and system-related problems. Installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting servers, operating systems and system software. Monitoring system performance, resource utilisation and logs to identify and resolve potential issues proactively. Performing and supporting system backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and availability. Supporting IT security controls, including access management, firewalls, antivirus and system patching. Configuring and maintaining network devices, including routers, switches and firewalls. Troubleshooting LAN, WAN and VPN connectivity issues and supporting DNS, DHCP and Active Directory services. Coordinating the resolution of major incidents and conducting root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Maintaining accurate IT asset and software inventories and supporting software licence compliance. Working with IT vendors on procurement, maintenance and disposal of IT assets. Developing user guides, technical documentation and knowledge-base articles. Providing user training and guidance on technology, systems and best practices. Supporting the testing and implementation of new applications, system upgrades and hardware configurations. Identifying opportunities to improve IT services, systems and processes.

Requirements

A Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. At least 2–3 years' relevant experience in systems, software and IT support. A valid driver's licence. Experience in system/network administration will be an added advantage. A post-professional qualification will be an advantage. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux and macOS environments. Good understanding of networking, including LAN, WAN, VPNs and firewalls. Knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. Understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat mitigation. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong documentation and technical communication skills. Willingness and ability to travel countrywide and regionally as required.
