Key Responsibilities: 1. Machining Operations: Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines to manufacture parts from drawings and samples. 2. Fitting: Perform fitting jobs including dismantling, repairing, and reassembling industrial gearboxes, pumps, and other equipment. 3. Quality Control: Inspect finished work using micrometers, verniers, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications. 4. Maintenance: Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting on workshop machines and tooling. 5. Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to workshop safety standards. Qualifications and Experience Qualified Fitter and Turner – Class 1 Journeyman certification required. Proven experience operating lathe machines, milling machines, and drilling machines. Hands-on experience with fitting and overhauling industrial gearboxes, pumps. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physically fit and able to work in a workshop environment.
