Diagnose heavy-duty vehicle faults using specialist diagnostic equipment. Service heavy-duty vehicles; caterpillars, tractors, and excavators. Engine overhauls and manual gearbox overhauls. Repair and replace defective parts in vehicles. Investigating faults using special mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.

Requirements

Must have sound management skills and work ethics. Safety skills, processes, and analysis. Technical Skills: Heavy equipment mechanics will need to be familiar with electronics, be able to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs. Strength: Heavy is in the name of the job. Some equipment can be extremely heavy
