CHAMPIONS INSURANCE COMPANY (PRIVATE) LIMITED VACANCY JOB POSITION: ACCOUNTANT - REPORTING LOCATION: HARARE REPORTS TO: CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER Duties and Responsibilities MAIN DUTIES • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly board reports in accordance with IFRS/IAS. • Execute financial budgeting, variance analysis (actual vs. budget), and cash flow forecasting. • Manage daily finance operations, working capital, credit control, and investment portfolios. • Enforce internal controls, departmental procedures, ISO standards, and statutory/regulatory compliance. • Oversee agency networks, reinsurance treaty returns, and coordinate internal and external audits. • Manage procurement processes, supplier databases, and vendor payments. • Supervise, delegate tasks to, and evaluate the Assistant Accountant. • Conduct bi-weekly broker visits and maintain key relationships with banks, regulators (ZIMRA, NSSA, ZIMDEF), and legal counsel.
